Coming soon
Clusters
Coming soon — organisations on their own clusters. Every Mandala today runs a single node per home, with your devices syncing between homes.
Personal versus organisation
- Your devices merge. Your laptop accepts writes offline and merges later; contracts declare how (Merge rules for sync).
- An organisation agrees. Where money and stock move (an order paid once, the last unit sold once), the organisation's servers form a cluster that agrees on one order through consensus (Raft). People's devices are clients: actions on the organisation queue as intents while offline and are submitted when back online; the cluster may refuse them, with a reason.
What exists
The engine runs replicated authority with several voters (OpenRaft), tested with three processes surviving the loss of a leader and node restarts under contention. dhl-engine cluster run <config> starts a voter of the prototype cluster.
What is being worked on
A certified cross-record transaction (a stock reservation) currently costs five to six sequential durable rounds, about 250 ms on three local voters. The protocol is being redesigned to need fewer rounds before clusters are offered for production.
