Mandala links to your WhatsApp number as a companion device, the way WhatsApp Web does. Your phone stays the primary device.
Read this first. Mandala uses WhatsApp's unofficial multi-device protocol. WhatsApp can ban numbers that use unofficial clients. Link a number only if you accept that risk.
Link your number
- Settings → Extensions → WhatsApp.
- Type your number with its country code (
+33 6 12 34 56 78) and press Get a code. - On your phone: WhatsApp → Settings → Linked devices → Link a device → Link with phone number instead, and type the 8-character code Mandala shows.
- The account shows Linked, with your number.
The session reconnects by itself after restarts.
What your accomplice may do
- It reads only chats you allow, one by one, in Communications (Allow Alma to see this chat).
- Every message it sends waits for your approval, and is recorded before it leaves, so a restart never sends it twice.
- Incoming messages are stored before WhatsApp is acknowledged, so a crash loses nothing.
More numbers
Settings → Extensions → Communications → WhatsApp numbers → Add number, then Get a code for that number. Each number links as its own device, and its chats show under it in Communications.
Unlink
Unlink in Settings, or remove the device from your phone's Linked devices. The account then shows Unlinked from the phone.
