Morning briefing, follow-ups and diary
Your accomplice keeps a quiet daily rhythm, run inside Mandala even when no window is open.
Morning briefing (07:30)
Each morning it looks at today's and overdue tasks, today's calendar, and anything urgent in mail and chats, and sends you a short plan for the day with what really matters. If there is genuinely nothing, it stays silent.
Change the time with ALMA_MORNING_TIME=08:15 in the environment file, or turn it off with ALMA_MORNING_TIME=off. The time is in ALMA_TIMEZONE.
Follow-ups
When your accomplice is waiting on something (a reply, a delivery, a decision) it schedules a follow-up and comes back to it at that time, in your conversation. Ask "remind me Monday to call the bank" or "check on Ana's reply in two days". Follow-ups survive restarts.
Background triage
New mail in watched inboxes and new messages in watched chats are triaged in the background. Most need nothing. Something that needs you now (money owed, an unhappy customer, a delivery problem, a deadline) becomes a notification; something for later becomes a task with a due date. Triage never replies to anyone.
The diary (23:30)
Each night your accomplice writes a private diary entry in its own voice: what happened between you today, what it learned, what to remember tomorrow. Lasting facts go to its memory. Change the time with ALMA_DIARY_TIME, or turn it off with off.
When goals and initiatives are on, the nightly diary becomes your accomplice's reflection, shown on the Initiatives page. See Goals, initiatives and reflection.
Coming soon — a briefing capped at five items that ends with "That's it for today", quiet hours and "not this kind again" on every notification.
